Awareness within the business community of the benefits of video production has become stronger over time. There's a general realisation that customers welcome videos and are happy to engage with video content, and we see statistics such as...
Incorporating video on landing pages can increase conversions by more than 80%
Website dwell time has been shown to increase by 260% by adding video content
But are there particular types of videos that businesses should ensure they have?
Is there even a "top 3" set of videos that all businesses should aspire to have made?
It's always a little risky to generalise, but here's what we believe are the 3 videos that every business should have.
Product/Service Explainer Video
When a potential customer visits a business's website they typically want to find out what the business is all about as quickly as possible. This could involve reading lots of text, but alternatively a video imparts information so much more quickly and allows imagery and detail to be delivered in an engaging and impactful way, in a short period of time.
Customer Testimonial Videos
You will hear marketers talk about "social proof". This is defined as "a psychological phenomenon where people tend to copy the actions and behaviours of others to determine what is correct or appropriate in a given situation".
Testimonials from previous customers are a great example of this, and video testimonials provide the most authentic way of delivering the opinions and recommendations of previous clients.
"About Us" video
It's always nice to gain an insight into the human side of a business, to hear from a real person and find ways you can relate to them. This is where this sort of video can be very powerful.
It can provide a chance for potential customers to connect with a business on a human level, showcasing the company's mission and values, helping build trust and rapport.
There are many other types of videos, and we'll discuss some of them in future blogs.
But the three videos above are a great starting point for any business.
And remember, if you're a very small business you can have a go at creating them yourself! Or if you'd like a professional hand we'd be pleased to hear from you.
